집중영어과정(IEP: Intensive English Program)은 영어숙련도 중하급에서 상급까지의 5레벨 과정에 매주 20시간의 수업을 제공하고 있습니다. 또한 매주 5시간 선택해서 들을수 있는 토플시험 준비 수업도 있습니다. 이 과정에 참석하는 분들의 유형으로는 미국 대학교에서 공부하기 위해 준비하는 학생들, 영어 대화 수준으로 향상 시키고자 하는 직장인과 전문가들 그리고 미국에 방문하신 분 중에 미국 문화에 대해서 익숙해지고자 공부하길 바라는 분들이 있습니다.

집중영어과정(IEP)은 8주를 한 과정으로 계획되어 있습니다. 과정별 일정은 다음과 같습니다. (단, 가을학기 2차 과정과 봄학기 2차 과정은 추수감사절과 봄학기 휴식 기간을 고려하여 9주차로 편성되어 있습니다.

    Intensive English Program

    The IEP offers 23 hours per week of intensive English language instruction at 5 levels of proficiency. Each level meets according to the following schedule:

    Grammar/Writing: 9:00 – 10:50 a.m. (Monday – Friday)
    TOEFL Preparation (not required): 11:00 – 11:50 a.m. (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)

    Reading/Vocabulary:
    1:00 – 1:50 p.m. (Monday & Wednesday);
    12:30 – 1:45 p.m. (Tuesday & Thursday)

    Listening/Speaking:
    2:00 – 2:50 p.m. (Monday& Wednesday);
    2:00 – 3:15 p.m. (Tuesday & Thursday)

    The program uses a communicative teaching approach, in which students learn through authentic language tasks such as conducting interviews and completing projects and reports. Class size is normally 12 – 15 students. Classes are held throughout the year. Each term is 8 weeks, but each level of the curriculum is 16 weeks (although some students may complete a level sooner).
