Every Tuesday Movie Night
Movie specials are always happening. Tuesdays are cheap days almost everywhere, and sometimes there are special kids’ days. Occasionally films are even shown with admission by donation.

May 5th - Vancouver’s Playland Amusement Park
Playland is a great place for kids. It has all kinds of rides including two roller coasters, with one being a 50+ year-old wooden one. There is also the Flume (log chute), AtmosFear and Drop Zone (the last of which is kind of like bungee-jumping, except that they shoot you up through the air). There are also all kinds of rides for tiny folk.

May 6th - BMO Vancouver International Marathon
The BMO International Marathon is a major running event in Vancouver in early May that attracts thousands of runners and tens of thousands of spectators.The event features a number of races including the full marathon, a half marathon, an 8-km race and a full-marathon relay. Most years there is also a street festival on the day from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm near the race finish line in downtown Vancouver.

May 12th - Spot Prawn Festival
a small 1-day festival celebrating spot-prawn season at Fishermen’s Wharf not far from Granville Island.

May 16th - Vancouver Whitecaps Football Club
The Vancouver Whitecaps are the Major League Soccer team which plays home games during the regular season from February to October at BC Place Stadium.
